FAQ
Please check our website for class descriptions, dates, times, prices, etc.
Do you offer in home lessons?

Yes, I can come to you.  Let me know if you have a machine, if not, I'll bring mine.

Do I have to bring my own sewing machine?

No, but if you have your own machine then you should bring it.

Do I need to know how to use my machine?

Yes! If you are taking a class then you should know the basics of your machine. If you don't please take our Intro to Your Sewing Machine class.

Do I need my own sewing supplies and accessories?

It is not necessary to have your own sewing supplies and accessories. We recommend that you take a few classes and decide if sewing really is for you. If it is then you should buy only what you need.

I want to learn a technique but you don't offer a class about it. What should I do?

Send us an email and maybe we'll add it. Or you can always take a private class.

What type of fabric do I need?

Each class is different, but normally a cotton or cotton/polyester fabric is best for when you're just starting. Our recommendation is to buy a vintage flat sheet at a local thrift store. The fabric is normally cotton or cotton/polyester, has a fun pattern, is inexpensive and best of all: you're helping the earth by recycling.

Do you offer sewing machine repair?

We do some repairs.  Call Jessica at the Lounge with more information about what needs repaired.
